My Kids! ~ Ottawa Child Photographer

I have posted pictures of my kids here before but I’m not sure whether or not I formally introduced them as mine. Anyway…these are my gorgeous kids!

Yes, my family is unusual but I’m used to it. My husband and I were married young and at the age of 23 years old, we had decided to look into adoption. The thing that puzzles most people I think is that adoption was our FIRST choice. I know its a very personal one, and its certainly not for everybody, but I am so thrilled that Nick and I made this decision. We have been so fortunate to have two INCREDIBLE children who came to our family as a result of adoption (and if I have my way – maybe a 3rd some day!). And while both of them come from different countries and backgrounds (Zia almost 3 years old from Ethiopia and Isaiah 5 years old from here in Canada), they are both the perfect fit for our family and as siblings. We couldn’t have imagined building our family any other way!

The Sassy Miss April ~ Ottawa Highschool Senior / Grad Photographer

April is the 3rd and final teen that I had chosen to work with for my teen Casting Call!! Her mom had contacted me after reading through my Facebook page that I was looking for models and after a few weekends of bad weather and trying to coordinate our schedules , we finally met up to do this shoot! April was a very sweet girl and I really enjoyed working with her! Thank you April – I hope you enjoy your sneak peek!!

CASTING CALL!!! ~ Ottawa Teen / Senior Photographer

Are you, or do you know an Ottawa area Teen who is interested in modeling for the Danielle Lynn Photography blog and website? If so, please read on and forward to your friends!!

I am opening up a casting call for an Ottawa area teen between the ages of 14 and 18. This exclusive, creative session is being offered at no charge and will take place some time between now and the end of February . The Teen will receive a 1-2 hour On-location photo session (and pre-session wardrobe consultation if desired). As a thank-you, approximately 1-3 weeks following the session they will also receive a full set of professionally printed 4×6 photos (all images proofed from the session, approx. 20-40 images) as well as a disc of web-sized, watermarked images (for sharing on Facebook etc.!). Parental permission is required as well as a signed model release.

Because of my busy schedule, this is only being offered for a very limited time and to very a select number of teens. Should you wish to model for the Danielle Lynn Photography website portfolio or if you know someone who would like to take advantage of this unique opportunity, please email daniellebernier@gmail.com The candidate’s first name, age, availability and anything cool or interesting that you’d like to share should be included. The only qualification? Wanting to feel like a STAR is a MUST! Beauty comes in all shapes and sizes and absolutely EVERYONE is welcome to apply!!!

Oh what a beautiful girl I had the pleasure to work with on Saturday!!! Doesn’t she just BEAM with beauty and personality? And she is a trooper! It was so cold here on Saturday morning, but she bravely and sweetly survived most of the session without a jacket on and with a smile on her face! Even I was freeing and I was bundled up in my warm jacket the whole time! Nothing that a post-session Tim’s hot chocolate couldn’t cure though!

Brian ~ Ottawa Senior/Grad Photography

There is something so challenging yet totally awesome and rewarding to be able to really connect with teens. Especially boys. There’s nothing more mysterious than boys of this age group. So quiet, yet outspoken. So shy, yet so opinionated. And unlike a lot of girls, they don’t always feel that comfortable in front of a camera. Thankfully for me, I keep getting the most AMAZING subjects to photograph though so Brian and I were able to just sort of hang out while I snapped away. Of course having the guitar there was a big help to keep him looking so relaxed and just like himself.

I really enjoyed photographing Brian. He is a musician who is a edgy and creative so it was a must that his images reflect who he is. I wanted his images to ‘feel’ like the type of guy he is, and I’m so pleased at how his personality has come through in these.
