Your Session
I am an on-location, 100% natural light photographer. This means that your session can take place anywhere there is an abundance of natural light. Common locations for a custom session include: In my client's homes as well as a variety of local parks in and around Ottawa.
Your session fee must be paid in full in order to hold your session date. Sessions will last approximately 1-2 hours, however I do not adhere to a strict time limit when working with my clients.
Approximately 1-2 weeks following your session you will be presented with 20-30 proofs, all which have been carefully and professionally edited and retouched in my digital darkroom. You will also be given a password to your own private gallery where you will be able to view your images and make any print or product purchases. Your private gallery will remain active for 7 days. All images purchased will be archived for 6 months in the event you wish to re-order prints. All un-ordered prints will be purged.

Clothing Suggestions
What to wear is one of the most commonly asked questions and is one of the most important factors in making sure that your images look the best they possibly can. Some things to keep in mind when choosing what to wear:
- A family should wear colours and should coordinate without dressing exactly the same. I would recommend that you pick a few colours and have everyone wear different combinations of those colours (sometimes it is easier to pick out one outfit for someone and work from that).
- For sessions taking place outdoors during colder months, layers are good. Feel free to try vests, jackets, blazers, skirts with leggings, or any other combination of clothes. Layers always photograph nicely.
- For outdoor sessions during warmer months, feel free to accessorize! Light cardigans, headbands, jewellery and fashionable scarves all work well.
- For in-home family sessions, simple is best. Since these are often a more laid back and intimate, outfits should not be too formal and patterns should not be too busy. Simple solid colours shirts (black, white, cream, brown etc.) with blue jeans work nicely. Using accessories like jewellery often compliment these simpler outfits well.

Meet Danielle
I am Danielle: Ottawa Photographer extraordinaire, mom, wife, lover of vintage, and foodie. When I'm not creating images for my wonderful clients I can often be found snuggled up at home with a good book, hanging out with my family or behind the sewing machine working on my latest sewing or quilting project. Art is my life and my life is my art.
I am an award winning photographer in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. I specialize in telling the story of wonder and delight in children as well as documenting the beautiful and intimate connection of families. I take great pleasure in creating works of art that are truly unique and providing my clients with a fun, honest, laid-back experience. Some more fun things I bet you didn't know about me:
- I am a Pug lover. If I ever retire from photography I will open my own Pug rescue. At which time I will declare myself a professional Pug hugger.
- I'm a chronic exclamation mark abuser. I've looked in to getting help for this!!! There is no cure!!!
- My other creative love besides photography is sewing and quilting. I love the delayed gratification of completing something one-of-a-kind.
- I am a foodie. The more exotic and international the better! Spice? Unusual ingredients? Bring. It. On.
- I hate dressing formally for anything. You can expect me to show up for every session in jeans, a t-shirt or hoodie and sneakers. That's just how I roll.
- I have a love for all things junky and vintage. I frequent antique stores and junk shops as often as possible. I am inspired by looking for the beauty in the non-traditional and you'll always find me at these places with my camera in tow.
- I'm an introvert who enjoys trying on the shoes of an A-Type personality from time to time. The truth though? Relaxed, intimate situations suit me best. This is why I love family photography.
Thank you so much for taking the time to get to know little 'ol me! I am looking forward to meeting you as well! Drop me a line!
