Ottawa Family Photographer :: Just in time for Christmas!

This lovely Ottawa family contacted me a couple of weeks ago hoping to squeeze in a photo session to have images ready in time for the holidays and for Christmas cards. Thankfully, I was able to accommodate them because they really were a LOT of fun! We started off their session at their home and then headed down to the Downtown/Byward Market area for a few outdoor family photos. Their sweet little guy Luke was fantastic to hang out with as well – such a ham for the camera and such a cheeky smile. His mom Candace told me that the day before he was actually excited for my arrival to take his pictures! If that doesn’t make me feel like a million bucks, I don’t know what would! I love being an Ottawa Family Photographer!

Thank you SO much Binette-Sherwood Family for welcoming me into your home yesterday!! I thoroughly enjoyed our time together and I’m so pleased with the resulting images of your beautiful little family!! On a side note: Candace is a local real estate agent and while visiting with them we also did a few business headshots! Ottawa Family Photographer :: The Gagnon-Daze Family

Rob contacted me last year hoping to present his wife with a gift certificate for a family session as a gift for her Birthday. Well…of course, time got away as it always seems to and low and behold, I heard from them this Fall wanting to use it up! I was so happy to finally meet them and to do the session with Rob, Marie-Claude and their two beautiful children. So we met down at the Mackenzie King Estate, just outside of Gatineau Quebec, which was GORGEOUS with colour, and found some interesting spots for some family photos! Thankfully, these guys are experts as knowing where some of the good spots are, so we went for a walk and enjoyed some of the beauty of the area. Big, big thanks to this wonderful family for choosing me as their Family Photographer. I hope you guys enjoyed yourselves as much as I did and that you also enjoy your new family photos for years to come!

As Fall winds down and we head into Winter and the holiday season, my availability will be changing slightly! This winter, in addition to preparing for the holidays, I have a few personal photography projects I plan (hope!) to take on. I also have a couple of casting/model calls I’d like to potentially do as well. So stay glued to the blog for further details on that! I will of course be making time for my regular clients too and I hope this winter brings me the opportunity to meet some new Ottawa and Gatineau area Families!

Ottawa Family Photography: The Sweet-Lindsay Family

This Fall has been spectacular!! Like, ‘I-wish-we-could-have-this-weather-year-round’ kind of nice. And to go along with that, the evenings have been a photographer’s dream. Tolerable (dare I say WARM) temperatures, beautiful glowy light – I couldn’t ask for a better shooting conditions. I’m also so grateful to be as busy as I have been. Its meant that I’ve been able to take full advantage of most of the good days we’ve had! HUGE shout-out to Mother Nature for being so kind to us here in Ottawa!

These lovely folks contacted me hoping for some fun, natural images to celebrate their family. Its a big year for their son Mark who is attending college for the first time this year so it was important for them that this time be documented. Some things I observed and loved about this session:

…The closeness that Mark and his sister Gracie share. It was one of the most fun, sweet, genuine bonds I’ve seen between a brother and sister in a long time. So refreshing.

…The way the golden and brown leaves glowed in the quickly setting sun. Made for some of the most beautiful light conditions ever.

…Their outfits! Everything tied together so perfectly with the natural, earthy colours.

…Their laid back, easy-going nature.

…Mark’s thick framed glasses and slight apprehensiveness. It took a little picking-on from Gracie to get him to laugh, relax and loosen up but he did fantastic.

…Gracie’s Moccasins. (A pair like that are on my wish list for this Fall!) AND Gracie’s beaming, contagious smile.

…The way the light shone in Louise’s lovely auburn hair. She instantly reminded me of Susan Sarandon.

…The playful banter between the kids and their parents when it was their turn to be in front of the camera. I could tell Grant had a hard time containing his laughter.

Thank you SO much Sweet-Lindsay family for the opportunity to spend part of my Thanksgiving long weekend with you! I hope you guys enjoyed yourselves as much as I did!

Ottawa Family Photographer ~ The Hinds Family

I was so happy when Jessica emailed me asking to book a session for when her family came to visit her here in Ottawa from Barbados. Its so rare (for me, anyway) to have families with older or adult children book sessions. Funny enough, I’ve actually had a record number this year and I really hope the trend continues!! Its such a nice dynamic to capture. So different from families with younger children, yet equally as special and beautiful. So thank you for trusting in me to capture your beautiful family Jessica. I hope your parents have arrived back home safely and that your new family photos will be enjoyed both near and far. :)

Ottawa Family Photographer ~ The Duini Family

Here’s another sweet family from the Fall Mini Sessions! These guys are one of the families that had to re-schedule due to rain, but we managed to squeeze them in this past Thanksgiving weekend…and the weather was BEAUTIFUL!
