Professional Headshots Ottawa :: Lauren

Lauren came to me recently looking for a professional, crisp new set of headshot images to represent her in her career as a Dermatologist here in Ottawa. Also being a few months pregnant, we needed to be sure we creatively posed her so as not to see the belly, but also provided her with some variety. She was so easygoing and fantastic to work with. Beautiful, friendly and posed like a pro too! As always, it’s so refreshing, fun and interesting to do what I do. I’m grateful every day for the professionals, artists and entrepreneurs my job allows me to meet!

I don’t know about you all, but with Spring finally here, I am SO excited to start getting outside and get moving! Spring is such an energizing time for both myself and my business. Even though the new year happened months ago, Spring is when I truly get excited about the awesome Ottawa folks I’ll get to meet. This year is no exception!

Spring is a fantastic time to update those professional headshots. The snow has melted, the temperatures are warming up and for many of us, Spring also means the busy season is approaching. This Spring I thought it would be fun to offer a little incentive for those of you who have been thinking about updating your business portrait but needed that extra little bit of encouragement to finally get in touch with me.

For THE NEXT 48 HOURS ONLY I will be offering my custom headshot sessions for $150. This is a $25 savings from my regular rate of $175! Some important things to note:

- Bookings will happen on a first come, first served basis and space is limited to my availability! This means the sooner you contact me, the more likely I will be able to book you in and be able to accommodate your preferences!

- Sessions can take place any time this year, but in order to receive this special offer your session MUST be booked and paid for within 48 hours of now. This means no later than Saturday April 6th, 2013 at 8pm. The exception to this is if we are still ironing out the details of your session via email. But all inquiries for these sessions MUST be received no later than Saturday April 6th at 8pm it take advantage of this sale – no exceptions!

Professional Headshots Ottawa :: Dan

For all of my professional headshot sessions I typically expect to spend about 30-45 minutes with each client. This amount of time usually allows for us to walk around the location and find some different areas to shoot in. It also allows for my clients to become comfortable with me. Past experience has shown that the first 10-15 minutes of a photo session can often be the most uncomfortable for a client, and I totally get that.

Being photographed in general can feel awkward for some (myself included!) and some times it takes a few minutes to get into the groove of things. With Dan though, I couldn’t have asked for an easier, more relaxed and fun experience. He was just a natural in front of the camera and our session just breezed by! I love when things just click between myself and my subject.

Ottawa Headshots :: Gorgeous Genevieve!

Over the next few days I’m really hoping to get caught up on blogging all of the headshot sessions I’ve been photographing! I’m not sure if it’s that spring is finally in the air or what, but I’m loving that my inbox is exploding lately with inquiries from folks wishing to update their professional headshots with me!

One of the best parts about this fun session with Genevieve was her playfulness. Since I offer such a non-traditional headshot I like to think/hope that my clients are up for something a little more ‘outside the box’ when they come to see me. Genevieve showed up to the session obviously dressed beautifully and appropriately for her line of work, but also wasn’t afraid to whip out a favorite hat and have some fun. She was such a natural. I just love when my clients trust me to make them look good. It creates that perfect mix of confidence, fun and creativity for both of us and the results are always fantastic.

Ottawa Headshots :: Nick in the Byward Market!

I love a good urban headshots session. For the right person with the right type of business it can be the perfect backdrop. Not too wild but not too boring and if my clients are willing to do some leg work, there are an amazing variety of spots downtown Ottawa. Nick contacted me a couple of weeks back wanting something professional yet approachable that he could use in his new career as a mortgage agent. Have I ever mentioned how thrilled I am that people are choosing these types of lifestyle headshots as opposed to the traditional, stand-in-front-of-a-backdrop ones? There truly are a time and place for both types, but I just love how these types of headshots show a person’s true personality. And in the age of technology where everyone is online and everyone is using it to build their businesses, having people see the real you is probably more important than it’s ever been before!
