Ottawa Engagement Photographer :: Two Peas in a Pod

What can I say…I’ve been waiting a long time for this moment. Chrissy, one of my oldest, dearest, bestest friends is getting married. You know those friends who you really root for…the ones you KNOW deserve someone incredible, wonderful and amazing but seem to be taking a while to find them? That’s Chrissy. She is just a fantastic person inside and out and I’ve always known that once the right guy comes along it would be magic. A match made in heaven. Two peas in a pod.

Enter Steve. Steve isn’t someone I’ve known for years, but after meeting him for the first time earlier this year my husband and I were actually excited about having met him. His personality was warm, easy going and made you feel like you’d known him forever. I even went so far as to send a text message to Chrissy after they left our house that day warning her that if they ever broke up, there’d be serious trouble.

I knew that Chrissy had found the one. I was giddy with excitement for her. Steve was worth waiting for, and Chrissy the same for Steve. I get goosebumps just typing that. I’m just genuinely happy to see such a perfect couple and to see two people so incredibly happy together. I look forward to seeing them experience all of the wonderful things that marriage brings.

In June 2013 Chrissy and Steve will be getting married in Cornwall, Ontario and I will be there to document the entire day! When presented with the option to be in the wedding party vs. photograph the wedding I knew I had a lot of soul searching to do. I wanted so badly to be able to do both. In the end I knew that being able to document their special day was the best gift I could give them. I can’t wait to be a part of the magic – even if it’s behind the scenes.

Chrissy and Steve – this is just the beginning! I am very excited for the year of amazingness ahead!!

Francois and Andrea ~ Ottawa Couples Photography

Wow…that is the first word that comes to mind about these two. Just wow!!!

I had so much fun with Andrea and Francois at our Couples session last Thursday evening! The rain held out just long enough for us to complete our session at Ottawa’s Ornamental Gardens and we were all very grateful!

In case it isn’t obvious enough, these two were AMAZING in front of the camera!! I could have seriously photographed them all day long. And the thing I loved most about them was the genuine love they shared, and their beautiful, raw chemistry. When they looked at each other, they meant it. When Francois reached out his hand for her, he meant it. You could actually FEEL that they meant it. It really was so beautiful to see. Having the ability to capture people’s true connections for each other is what I love most about the type of work I do. I am so grateful that Andrea and Francois contacted me to document this time in their lives. I’m secretly hoping that they will have an engagement or a wedding in the future…so that I can (hopefully!) have the pleasure of photographing them again!!

Ronnie and Colleen ~ Photographer in Ottawa

I love how different each of my clients are. Its part of what makes each session fun and challenging for me. Whether they are a couple in love, or a new family or a teen experiencing her first photo session – each have something so unique about them and that’s what I aim to capture.

How hot are these two? I LOVE their tattoos! I’m too chicken to get my own, but I LOVE them on other people!! And they totally rocked the camera too. They had the best ‘I’m a Supermodel’ faces and of course the best smiles. And they were totally up for outfit changes, location changes and just going along with whatever I asked them to do! SO much fun!!

Ottawa Couples Photographer ~ Shayla and Lauren

Despite the forecast for yucky weather all weekend in Ottawa, yesterday turned out to be beautiful and warm – perfect for a session! These ladies were so clearly in love and SO much FUN!! There’s nothing better than when clients totally go along with all of your ideas!! I had brought along tons of props and my BRAND NEW Instax instant camera and tried it out for the first time!! More on the Instax another day…

Annette and Jordan ~ Ottawa Couples Photographer

Yet again, I am thrilled to have been lucky enough to work with such sweet, gorgeous people! And what a hilarious time we had! Seriously, I think its a miracle that I was able to hold the camera steady – I was laughing so much sometimes!!

A while back I photographed their ADORABLE little girl, however, due to Miss Dains deciding to make an early appearance, we missed the opportunity to do the Maternity session! So instead, we just celebrated the love between this new Mommy and Daddy last Saturday. I hope you enjoy your (not so small) sneak peek guys – thanks for the fun morning!!
