Isn’t this one handsome young man?! Dominik is Amilie’s younger brother and much like Amilie, he was SO easy to photograph!! Doesn’t he look like he could be in an ad for this Billabong T-shirt?! I totally think so! He just has that look!

As you probably already know if you follow me here and my Facebook fan page, I did a Teen Casting Call a couple of weeks ago as I wanted to update my portfolio with some fresh faces for 2010. And Amilie is one of the 3 teens that I chose to work with!!
I know I’ve said this before but I LOVE working with Teens. I find that they are not only so much fun, but that they normally LOVE the camera. Sometimes a little shy or self conscious at first, but by the end of the session they are always so into it and having fun just getting involved, chit-chatting, posing, coming up with ideas etc., its great and so rewarding for everyone! There’s just something so amazing about capturing this often over-looked age too. I think most parents forget that THIS is a major turning point in their child’s lives and is just as important (if not more important?) than so many other milestones! In a very short amount of time, these young adults will be off in the ‘real world’, doing real world stuff. Going to college, getting jobs, – having lives of their own. Just….growing up!! And how amazing to have images of your teen that truly reflect who they are as they approach these turning points in their lives?! Its pretty cool if I do say so myself! LOL!

I am opening up a casting call for an Ottawa area teen between the ages of 14 and 18. This exclusive, creative session is being offered at no charge and will take place some time between now and the end of February . The Teen will receive a 1-2 hour On-location photo session (and pre-session wardrobe consultation if desired). As a thank-you, approximately 1-3 weeks following the session they will also receive a full set of professionally printed 4×6 photos (all images proofed from the session, approx. 20-40 images) as well as a disc of web-sized, watermarked images (for sharing on Facebook etc.!). Parental permission is required as well as a signed model release.
Because of my busy schedule, this is only being offered for a very limited time and to very a select number of teens. Oh what a beautiful girl I had the pleasure to work with on Saturday!!! Doesn’t she just BEAM with beauty and personality? And she is a trooper! It was so cold here on Saturday morning, but she bravely and sweetly survived most of the session without a jacket on and with a smile on her face! Even I was freeing and I was bundled up in my warm jacket the whole time! Nothing that a post-session Tim’s hot chocolate couldn’t cure though!

I know how it goes. Having to frantically search around on February 13th trying and find something super sweet for your husband or wife for Valentines Day. I’ve been there. And it stinks. And sadly, I’ve been on both the giving and receiving end of giving that lame-o box of chocolates and a card that we always end up with. BUT….this year, I’ve got some good news!! A Valentines Day special that will not only get you in the good books with your Mom/husband/wife etc. BUT is also contributing to a VERY important cause! Its a win-win for everyone!
From now until February 14th, Danielle Lynn Photography is offering Valentines Day Mini Sessions. $200 gets you a 45 minute session for two, Two 5×7 prints and One 8×10 print. And what makes this even more amazing is that $25, and ALL additional print sales from each Mini Session will be donated to Oxfam Canada to be used in sending water and aid to victims in the recent Earthquake in Haiti. That’s right. Re-read that bit if you need to. $25 of your $200 as well as the profits from EVERY print purchased through your mini session.
Yet again, I am thrilled to have been lucky enough to work with such sweet, gorgeous people! And what a hilarious time we had! Seriously, I think its a miracle that I was able to hold the camera steady – I was laughing so much sometimes!!
A while back I photographed their ADORABLE little girl, however, due to Miss Dains deciding to make an early appearance, we missed the opportunity to do the Maternity session! So instead, we just celebrated the love between this new Mommy and Daddy last Saturday. I hope you enjoy your (not so small) sneak peek guys – thanks for the fun morning!!

To say that I’m blown away at the success of this contest would be a huge understatement!! You guys ROCK! I literally got HUNDREDS of entries, from all over Canada, from all different people (most of whom I had never previously known!) and many were also from right in my own back yard! So I think it goes without saying ~ THANK YOU. Thank you to all of the family, friends (and new friends!), as well as my wonderful clients who have helped make this contest a success through sharing about it on Facebook, emails etc.. I honestly and genuinely appreciate each and every one of you and the things that you do on a regular basis to help make Danielle Lynn Photograph so successful!
So to answer the many questions that I’ve been getting from friends, clients and fellow photographers, I will now officially confirm (in case you can’t tell from my excitement) that it was a HUGE success. I had hoped to be able to get my name out in the community a little, gain some new contacts, do something fun and memorable that people could have fun with and at the same time, use the opportunity to SHARE THE LOVE and give something really cool away!
